“International solution – Some important factor we selected Softway within the Nexus project are: Connectivity with SAP and flexibility of the tools to meet requirements established by Goodyear, based on the regional model conforming to the information needs and process controls. This solution has gone through financial regional, SOX and IT audits and it is adapted to the export and import cost distribution and calculation requirements, in addition to internal controls and local requirements. Regarding the technological infrastructure, the tool is installed at the headquarters in the USA, and it is accessed throughout the entire Latin American region and the USA, with no problems in access or performance whatsoever.
The solution’s scope and its compliance with the countries' local requirements – As part of the regional model, there are three modules: Imports, exports and In-Out. These modules are installed in organizations that already implemented Nexus (Argentina, Colombia, GIC (Miami, Central America, Caribbean, Ecuador, Uruguay, Puerto Rico and Panama) and Mexico. With plans for implementation in Peru, Brazil, Chile and Venezuela. In addition to these modules, a drawback solution was deployed in Colombia. In Brazil we deployed additional modules such as BrokerSys, import and export exchange, and the connection with the RECOF module (already implemented with Prism/Avantis/JDE). A part of the implemented processes is the connection with customs brokers of each country in order to receive the import and export declaration forms, as well as the solution in GIC for the duty free zones of Santo Tomas in Guatemala and Colon in Panama.
Quality of Service – The team assigned by Softway to carry out the project are extremely professional consultants and most of them have shown discipline, commitment and great know-how of the tool and SAP, along the entire project. Another important aspect is the project management. The company has always participated in the development of plans and either provided full solutions to problems or presented improvements.
