Softway has enhanced and adapted its business, production and project processes in order to obtain CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) LEVEL 2. Today, it is the first and only company in this industry with this recognition. In November 2008, the company completed the evaluation, applied by Liveware (EUA), a consulting company recognized by Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
To obtain this maturity level, the company has invested R$ 2 million on training courses, consulting services, and applied methodologies in order to structure its entire technical área; that is, the entire development process, and project implementation. The official evaluation proofs what has been seen in practice: considerable improvements in the quality assurance for processes, services and products developed by the company.
Softway objective was not only SEI official recognition, but to adopt the model in order to add practical benefits to the company and its customers. The first step was the institutionalization throughout the organization; we did not create an “island” only for the evaluation. The next step was to search for the procedures required for an official evaluation. The official evaluation came to proof Softway collaborator’s commitments, and recognize that Softway has reached internation quality patterns for its processes.
With this new achievement, Softway continues to invest on the continuous quality of its processes; new models have been analyzed and effectively implemented aiming at adding value to the services and products offered by the company.
